Lava’s upcoming Agni 2 5G will be the first smartphone to feature MediaTek’s “new” Dimensity 7050 SoC, which was unveiled yesterday. We say “new” since it’s identical to the Dimension 1080 that launched last October. It’s the same chip, now with a different name! However, Lava wants the bragging rights.

While we wait for the company to make the Agni 2 official, a list of its most important specs leaked today, along with a hands-on image.

The phone is said to have an AMOLED screen with a built-in fingerprint sensor, Android 13 on board, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 50MP main camera on the back.

The first Agni was released in November of 2021, so its successor has definitely had its sweet time. The Agni was powered by the Dimension 810, meaning the new model should deliver a good performance boost, by comparison. The RAM is the same, the storage space has been doubled, while the main camera goes from 64MP to 50MP. The original Agni had an LCD screen and side-mounted fingerprint sensor, so its successor definitely looks to have some nice all-round improvements.

Gràcies pel consell!
